We’re shifting gears and updating our branding as we ride towards our 125th year ! Our new look captures our deep heritage and the forward looking   energy, inclusivity, and passion for cycling that make our club special.

New Club volunteers : we need you!🌟”

Current positions:

  • Branding update  :3 positions to grow diversity in the work group. Are you motivated to rebrand / maximise inclusivity, and a new to the club since 2021; or a women member or  under 30?
  • Kit Provider –  this role will lead the sourcing of the new kit designs options/ recommendation and implement the kit with suppliers. This role will be part of the rebranding group.
  • Club Representative on the committee – women’s membership, u18 parent representative. (No experience required, will talk regularly with and too other members to inform and bring views into the committee.)
  • Website update – coordinate and implementation the website update. Relevant skills and experience is required.
  • Cyclo-Cross & Mtb Secretary – coordinates and supports club events/ club participation/ representation.
  • Welfare office – to start in role this summer. BC online Training provided. Regular (not mandatory)  participant to club events i.e. Monday or Sunday club rides. Part of Safeguarding compliance for the club.
  • Coaching Coordinator- coordinating the club coaching and grow club youth development/ linked path ways.

Your race Team need you – 16th Jan

Have you ever considered racing in PNECC colours? if so, we need you for the 2023 racing season! This coming Monday night there will be an opportunity to meet and discuss club racing for the season ahead. Experienced and aspiring racers are encouraged to join, it is open to all. Please meet us at the Mountbatten track room at 7pm – 16th Jan, and bring your bike, circles/track time will be afterward at 8pm. There will also be a committee meeting at 7:45pm. Happy New Year

Clubmates, we had a fantastic 2022, and 2023 is looking just as exciting. If you’re considering a new years resolution, we have a few ideas for you. But whatever you decide to pursue in 2023, we hope the year is a success. Wishing you sunshine, tailwinds, coffee and cake. Happy new year to all from PNECC!

 

2023 ready – Appointments, awards & decisions

The 2022 AGM  minutes are now online and include new appointments, rule updates and constitution updates. A warm welcome to our new 2023 season club officials and thank you to those that have serves in 2022.

The AGM included the award of Life Membership to Dave Swaffer for his long serving dedication and participation across the club. The presentation was made by vice president, Harry Jackson

 

The AGM was followed by a dinner and Annual club awards evening. Well done to our winners, and thanks to all who prepared and participated to both AGM, and  awards evening.

 

Club AGM – 26th November, Mountbatten

The Annual General Meeting this year will take place in the Mountbatten Function Room , Saturday 26th November 2022 . Tea and coffee 16:45, meeting starts start  5pm  until 6pm. Notice of the AGM has been sent to all members by email  and posted on our social media.

The club relies on you…..with more members doing a little – not a few doing a lot…..it makes a big difference!

2022 Club Survey now open online

The 2022 Portsmouth North End Club survey is now open to share your ideas, feedback and experiences.

All members should have received an email with a link to complete the survey online, please check any SPAM folders.

If you haven’t received the survey email please email chair@pnecc.co.uk directly. The survey link is also posted on the Facebook members area.

Please consider the last year since Aug 2021 to now when responding and  complete all relevant sections.

All responses are in confidence and will be used to understand your needs, and  develop the club. The Survey will remain open until 26th September.

Mountbatten Cycle Coaching, 12th Aug 18:00

Mountbatten Friday night road bike session. – 12th August 2022
18:00-19:00 youth
19:00-20:00

Coordinated by Gordon, British cycling coaches from Portsmouth North End Cycling Club are offering sessions at the Mountbatten track.

Opportunity to ride and try coach led racing on the Mountbatten closed circuit on road bikes.
Depending on numbers the sessions can accommodate different rider abilities.
The sessions will be road bikes only I.e. bikes with gears and freewheel.

Youth
Hour on road bikes group riding handling and mini coach led race scenarios.

Adults / Strong youth / juniors
Hour / hour and half road bikes

The session will include race scenarios snd coach led races.
For a place reply by email to coaching@pnecc.co.uk, include any particular elements of racing you’d like to develop.

Team Time trial
Lead outs
Finish scenarios.
Break away.
The session will be adapted to cover the needs of the riders.

Cost is covered by the club. Serviceable bike helmet and gloves please.
